Mission
|
Our mission statement: Shepherd Ministries of Central Texas is a steadfast ministry of presence and service. We share the Word of God and demonstrate the love of Jesus Christ by ministering love and care to people of all walks of life. We listen to and encourage people with hope and prayer, and help to connect them to needed resources. We assist other non-profit Christian related ministries where and when we can with labor, love, and prayer.
Vision
Visiting and prayer walking RV parks in the Bastrop County and surrounding areas, with intent on meeting people to listen for emotional, spiritual, or physical needs and to encourage them with hope and prayer, and by helping to connect them to resources if needed. We assist other non-profit Christian related ministries, and serve where and when we can with manpower, love, and prayer. [Acts 20:35]

History
|
For the past 2-1/2 yrs. as Navigators we were an RV ministry living at the Cedar Valley RV Park. We served the community by hosting morning and evening events to bring the community together to fellowship and get to know one another. Today we continue to minister to the people of the RV park keeping relational conversations alive and meeting new residents. We desire to reach people for Christ by being Christ like, and our hope is to be a faithful presence in the RV park communities in Bastrop and surrounding areas.
We have been long time volunteers with Austin Disaster Relief Network since 2012, where we received our chaplaincy, CERT, and critical incident stress management training. Currently Brent is volunteering with the God of Hope Ministry and is ministering to the prisoners at the Travis State Jail, in Austin, and discipling one- on-one as a Barnabas coach.
Since moving back to Bastrop, Texas in October 2019, we have served alongside other Bastrop Christian ministries helping serve those in need. Brent serves every 2nd Sunday with Hands & Feet Ministry at church under the bridge in Austin, and every 3rd Saturday with KOZ (Kids Outdoor Zone) held at Celebration Community Church. Laura serves with Bastrop Prayer & Healing Room and Bastrop Freedom Alliance. We have been available to assist the needs of ministries throughout Bastrop County, as well as have taken recent mission trips to the Texas border towns to help with the needs of the churches serving those communities. We invite new Christians to attend classes, bible studies, worship gatherings and such and escort them so they are not alone. We minister to the diverse needs of people, and when possible, we connect them to other resources that can help.
We have begun raising funds to give Shepherd Ministries of Central Texas a foundation on which to bless those in need. We would welcome your support as we build Shepherd Ministries of Central Texas and continue to serve those in need.
